Deutsche Welle

The 2-part TV documentation "Maschinenmusik - Four Deacades of Electronic & Dance from Germany" will be broadcasted on DW-TV on 18 und 25 November (and replays one or two days later), in German, English, Spanish and Arabic language, in Africa, North & South America, Asia & Arabia.
For the actual hour of broadcast you should check for PopXport at Deutsche Welle. There will be also a Live Stream.
.
For this documentation, KS was interviewed & filmed in his studio, in June 2010. But... I suppose, the programme will concentrate more on the German "pop" music, than on a singular pioneer such as Klaus Schulze.
.
(I tried hard to find this programme on the DW website, but in vain. It's shortly mentioned just here in a trailer for some November programmes, start at 00:40).

à propos "Reklame" :-)

There is a short film about Klaus Schulze's BIG IN JAPAN concerts and record release. Our French friend James Frachon asked me kindly to make some "Reklame" for it, what I gladly do.

Or see it on Vimeo.

I repeat ...repeat ...peat ...peat ...eat ...eat ...t ...t

Again and again people ask me in mails when Klaus Schulze will play a concert in their town, in their country, anywhere else, or at all. It's an understandable request. But in my answering mails I can only repeat what is already given in plain words on the opening page of the official KS website, more or less since its existence:
"The date of any seriously planned concert by Klaus will be put immediately into this website."
(..and, yes, here too.)

Nachschlag?

The Japanese Box BIG IN JAPAN is sold out. All 500 are sold. I fear that the first offers at ebay will come soon.
I know that the Japanese have a contractual option to manufacture more copies, up to 2,000. If they want. Of course, this depends on the Nachfrage, hey, what is "Nachfrage" in English? ... (thanks:) It depends on the demand. And of course, the Japanese will also take in account the rivalry of the - much cheaper but not so luxurious - German release at the end of November. We have to wait and watch.

And now for something completely different...:

Here is a (more or less) recent photo with a reflective and relaxed Klaus Schulze, sitting snugly in his studio, enjoying his Tokyo success. My immediate impression: he looks a bit tired, but healthy.
(Yes, there is even a studio part without any technique)

BIG IN JAPAN EUROPE !

One month ago I announced that the precious BIG IN JAPAN recordings (audio and video) will be also released in Europe, sooner or later. Now I can report that such a release will come already in November.
It will be a "normal" 3-disc set with two CDs and one DVD, containing the same music and video as the Japanese release, but without the thick photo book and, most important: for a normal price.

The sad side effect is, that the next release (Volume 9) in the LVE series will be not until May 2011. Remember? First, the release of LVE 9 was scheduled for September, then January, and now in May. I wonder...

Germany's largest CD dealers gave and give a release date for LA VIE ELECTRONIQUE Vol. 9 ...which is wrong: "24 September".
I just spoke with KS who was quite astonished about the published release date for LVE 9, and promptly the label was contacted and asked. Therefore, I can inform you here & now: Amazon, JPC and the others (incl. our official Website) were and are wrong: it's not the 24th of September, but LVE 9 will be released in January next year. The label will also inform the dealers immediately, ...I was told.

The date in the official KS website can only be corrected when my webmaster is back from a short holiday. So, do not wonder if you still read there the obsoled & wrong September date.

KS news

A foreign release is to be announced for 22 September 2010:
A double CD and a DVD will be released in Japan; it contains the audio and video recordings of Klaus Schulze's two Tokyo concerts in March 2010, combined in a limited edition box. I must add: a luxurious box. With a photo book. And not cheap (15,000 Yen = 140 Euros!). More info here.
The double CD with 147 minutes of music contains 5 tracks from both concerts. The DVD contains two long tracks of 35 and 45 minutes; the longer track - with some minutes of KS playing electric guitar - is only on the DVD, not on the CDs.
I'm sure that a European release will follow; not so extravagant & not so costly. More will be announced in the official KS website, at the proper time.
PS: A better photo is in "Kommentar"
