A film crew was recently filmed in the Reims Cathedral, not really doing something. Probably they shoot already now some church images for a coming "40 years of TD at Reims Cathedral" (?)
On 13 December 1974 the French town of Reims was indeed an important place for a trio called "Tangerine Dream". Here they had a largely promoted concert for the invited world press & a few thousand paying fans. Supporting the concert was Nico, ...and I was the concert's stage manager.
At the very end of that meaningless video, the crew is seen in a little restaurant ...and after 9 minutes, at the film's end and show-stopper, the cameraman zooms in on a bottle on the table (& the music changes from old T.D. to a part of Manuel's "e2-e4") and this bottle shows, out of the blue....

Kürbis ist wirklich das letzte: geschmacklos und, wie Siebeck drüben - sehr zu Recht - schreibt: dagegen ist Blumenkohl eine Aromabombe.

Eine Geschichte, kurz: Mein Opa selig, geboren 1876 auf’m Dorf weit im Süd-Osten, irgendwo hinter Schlesien, als der anno 1960 in seinen letzten Jahren bei uns in Berlin Kreuzberg wohnte, meinte, als er mal Ananas (aus der Dose) zum Dessert bekam: “Der Kürbis schmeckt aber komisch.” Dies neumodische Zeugs (Ananas) kannte und mochte er gar nicht. Ihm stand der Sinn nach Kürbis (...und er war auch sonst von recht schlichter Natur, der gute Mann).

Julia hat ein Einsehen: kein Kürbis zur Kürbiszeit, auf keinen Fall. Dafür eine Apfeltorte. Die vielen Kleingartenbewohner hier um die Ecke verschenken seit Wochen ihre Äpfel an Spaziergänger; also freundlich lächeln, plaudern & fragen, oder gleich die an die Zäune gehängten Tüten voller Äpfel mitnehmen ...und Apfeltorte backen. Und, dank Julia, sie schmeckt (die Torte)! ... Besser als fader Kürbis, in welcher Form auch immer.

Ein deutscher Journalist, mit dem ich gut kann (und er mit mir; er schrieb den Text in La Vie Electronique 7 & er hat als erster gemerkt & darüber geschrieben, dass MiGs Release der TONWELLE voll daneben ist) ...hat gerade den Theodor-Wolff-Preis 2012 erhalten: Lars Fischer. Auch ich gratuliere!

Vor - oder noch besser: hungrig nach - einem ausgiebigen Spaziergang im gegenüberliegenden Grunewald preisgünstig und gut essen; es gibt kein überteuertes Schickimicki-Zeugs auf schwarzen oder viereckigen Tellern, dafür aber so interessantes wie nettes Publikum und sehr freundliche Bedienung. Drinnen wie draußen gibt's zudem reichlich Platz. Und keine Angst: die vielen lederbekleideten Biker sind inzwischen friedliche Familienväter.

...und erfreulicherweise machen die bisherigen Leser-Kommentare zu diesem ZEIT ONLINE-Artikel deutlich, dass das nun gar nicht geht: Wenn schon ein Mode-Adjektiv wie "spannend" benutzt wird, dann pfeift das Konstrukt "Europa" wirklich auf dem letzten Loch.

Ein Fahrer oder eine Fahrerin heißt auf Englisch "driver", ein Schauspieler oder eine Schauspielerin "actor", ein Produzent oder eine Produzentin "producer".
Wieso aber liest man im Nachspann eines deutschen Fernseh-Films oft das unmögliche: "Producerin"?

Strange experience with UPS:
Once in a year, but for several years in the past, I use UPS. On the 5th of July I phoned them again and asked for the actual price to send a little document (a 4 pages contract) to Moscow. Always very helpful, they gave me the price of 66.99 Euros (which is not cheap, but the document will be in Moscow in three or four days; with the post - for 0.90 € - it always takes at least two weeks). This "66 €" was also the rate that I had seen before in UPS' website.
The UPS man came as usual in the past years, took the envelope with the document and the duly completed UPS waybill, asked for 66.99, I gave him the 68 Euros that I had prepared, and the document was on its way. So far so normal, so good, as in all the years ago.

13 (thirteen!) weeks (!) later (!) UPS asked me with a letter for an additional 32 Euros for this long-ago shipment, without any further explanation. Of course I told that that I'm not willing to pay that: the deal three month ago was 66.99, the UPS man also asked exactly for this sum and I paid the 66.99, and I have a receipt for it. Without full payment he would not have taken the order, anyway, because I'm not a permanent customer of UPS: they always ask for full payment. Also, I would rather have used the normal post than paying nearly one hundered Euros for this simple "only document" shipment.
The sudden (after 13 weeks!) additional dept claim (wherefore?) I just find obscene. And I told them so.
